Personal Problems

I say Rat's phrase several times a day. I can't help it. People give me too much ammunition.

Watching the world of someone you love fall apart.
Hoping to find one thing..... something to pull them out of their fog.
Knowing the rest of their life is going to be ruined by their decisions.
Wondering if there is time to get them back on track before it's too late.
Feeling the pain of the world that they make for themselves, then ask you to accept.
Why can't they see past the moment, to the days, the months, the years to come?
Do I walk away, and feel the hollowness of not trying to do more?
"I'm an adult now", they say. "I can do whatever I want", they tell us.
Yet, they manipulate us, use us, and never see the look of pain on all of those around them.
Never once wondering why we look that way.
Helpless. I feel helpless, that nothing I say or do can make a difference.
